Sanitation Foreman
Under the direction of the Public Works Director and the general supervision of the Operations Manager, performs supervisory and administrative work in the Sanitation Division to ensure that refuse and recycling are collected in an efficient, safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
- The individual in this position acts as a working supervisor within the Division responsible for planning, assigning and coordinating the activities of assigned Sanitation Division.
- Also operates equipment to complete the sanitation route, container delivery and other assigned tasks.
- Keeps and maintains records/documents associated with solid waste collection, code compliance and purchasing.
- Provides input to department staff regarding equipment purchasing, scheduling of maintenance/repair of fleet and equipment and assists with determining budgetary needs for the division.
- Responds to citizens’ inquiries and complaints regarding Town sanitation services.
- Creates, receives, modifies and reviews work orders using web-based work and asset management system; creates and analyzes associated reports and takes appropriate action to address operational concerns.
- Also conducts interviews, prepares evaluations and plans/conducts training for assigned employees.
High School diploma or equivalent required along with a minimum of five (5) years of sanitation truck operator experience and a valid Florida Class B commercial driver’s license. A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience is also required.
Pay range: $26.52 to $42.43 per hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications. Excellent benefits.
